Feb 7, 2012 - wow, this is SO interesting, I have never even heard of this so I goggled the term lateral violence and discovered the word seems to be used exclusively for nurses! I am not a nurse so I dont know anything about the health care field but I am a pHD student and I am the youngest person in my department and I have encountered this type of behavior from a lady in the department who thinks I am too young, and naive, to be here & she has told lies and gossips about me all the time, so I can relate!
